Former UFC Champion Jose Aldo has been on a mission ever since the Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez fight was announced last month. Aldo wants a fighters union and he wants out of his UFC Contract. Well, UFC President Dana White came out and said that they would not be releasing Jose from contract and would work things out with him.
Dana and Jose met in Las Vegas earlier this morning where Dana offered Aldo a deal that should make Aldo happy. Sources close to team Nova Unaio and Brazilian News Outlet MartialArts.Globo have told us the deal is a superfight with UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz on the UFC 207 PPV card headlined by Ronda Rouseys UFC Return. With the card being estimated at over 1 million PPV buys, this is good news for both Aldo and Cruz’s pockets. No word on what weight class the bout will take place in but with Cruz recently saying that he was willing to move up, my guess would be a featherweight bout. But there are a few exceptions, if Conor is to beat Alvarez at UFC 205, Jose Aldo will either become the undisputed featherweight champion or face Conor McGregor in the spring of 2017 to unify the titles. More information coming soon. Check out Jose’s interview fresh out of UFC Headquarters unsure if he will accept the fight.
