How Michael Moorer Became The 1st Ever Southpaw Heavyweight Champion

Throwback | When the Heavyweight division was still in its prime, it got a little extra boost in 1991 when Light Heavyweight destroyer Michael “Double M” Moorer joined the Heavyweight ranks. After starting his career 22-0 and defending his Light Heavyweight title nine times, Moorer would go on to win the Heavyweight title by defeating Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield by a 12 round Majority decision but it was filled with controversy as Holyfield retired five days after the fight due to heart problems.
